Newborn and Family portraits in Folkestone
A newborn photoshoot is a special and memorable way to capture the precious moments of a baby's early days. It is an opportunity for parents to document the arrival of their new family member and create lasting memories to cherish for years to come.
During a newborn photoshoot, the focus is on the baby, but it is also common (and highly encouraged by myself!) for parents to join in and be photographed with their newborn. This offers a wonderful opportunity for parents to capture the early moments of their baby's life and allows for beautiful family portraits to be created, showcasing the love and connection between the new parents and their baby.
When planning for a newborn photoshoot, it is important to consider the age of the baby. Newborns are typically photographed within the first two weeks of life when they are still sleepy and more easily posed. It is best to schedule the photoshoot in advance to ensure availability and to allow time for any necessary preparations.
For parents, it is recommended to coordinate their outfits with the baby's and to choose clothing that will complement the overall aesthetic of the photos. In fact, prior to our session, I will send you a prep guide with some recommended outfits. It can also be meaningful to incorporate personal items or props that hold significance for the family, adding a special touch to the photoshoot so please do let me know if you would like to bring something.
In preparation for your newborn photoshoot, you will also receive a questionnaire so that you can communicate any specific preferences or ideas for the photos (such as colours and props), as well as any concerns or questions about the process.
