Newborn Photoshoot (Folkestone) - how does it work?
Thank you for considering a professional photoshoot for your newborn. It's a special time that deserves to be captured beautifully. I would be honoured to work with you to create timeless and precious memories but let me talk you through my workflow.
When to book?
The first time to book your newborn photoshoot is usually after your 20 weeks scan once you know the pregnancy is progressing well and that baby is healthy. At this point, you will get in touch and let me know your due date which I will pencil in my diary. There is no way to know when baby will make an appearance of course so as soon as your newest addition has arrived, let me know and we will agree on a suitable date/time. If you were lucky to receive a gift voucher, then you can get in touch as soon as baby is born as I would have already accounted for your due date!
Before your session
Prior to your photoshoot, you will receive a prep guide with all you need to know for the session as well as a questionnaire to help me target your preferences in terms of colours and props.
Session day!
I go with the flow! When doing newborn photography, it's important to prioritise the baby's safety and well-being. It's crucial to work with a professional photographer who is experienced in handling newborns and follows safety protocols. It's also important to be patient during session, as babies can be unpredictable. The overall focus should always be on creating a safe and comfortable environment for the baby. Typically, if baby is asleep on arrival, I will start with undressing them and posing them. If they don't wake up, you get all the cute sleepy poses done in one go! However, if they wake up, then we're off to a break where baby can be fed and cuddled! If baby is awake, I will not attempt to pose as it would not be safe to do so I will swaddle them instead which can send them to sleep.
