Why is it important to pre book your Newborn photoshoot?

I'm sure you have been on a lot of other Kent photographers websites and they all say "pre book your newborn session after your 2nd trimester's scan". Well yes, I would recommend the same!

The arrival of a new baby will definitely be an adjustment in your every day routine and not having to worry about finding a photographer and booking a session last minute will definitely take the pressure away.

Capturing your newborn is definitely going to be one of the most special time in your life and it is undoubtable that you will want to capture all those beautiful sleepy shots. The newborn stage is such a short window and those sort of images are best achieved within the first 4-21 days.

You might wonder, "why should I wait until my 20 weeks scan". Well only because that growth scan is an extra reassurance that everything is well both for you and baby and a sign that you can start planning everything for baby's arrival. If you contact me at this point, I will pre book you in my diary by your due date. Why? Because we all know that babies arrive whenever they want so we can't physically arrange the photoshoot date just yet. However when baby arrive, get back in touch and I will have plenty of available dates put aside for your session.

While 4-21 days old is the soft spot for newborn photography, don't let it drag you down because I do photograph newborns up to 8 weeks old! In fact some 6 weekers are sometimes easier than the 6 days old babies because their routine is already starting to take shape or because they do less cluster feed maybe. For those older babies or those who aren't too sleepy on the day of their session, we get to capture all their lovely expressions and tiny features regardless.
